Independent Training and Certificate of Completion
Analytical Training Consultants (ATC) independently develops and delivers this course on Positive Material Identification and the application of API RP 578. The course is not approved, sponsored or endorsed by the American Petroleum Institute (API).
Students who successfully complete ATC’s course requirements receive an ATC Certificate of Completion documenting 16.0 CPD Hours. This is an ATC training credential, not an API-issued certification, license or authorization.
Employers remain responsible for determining personnel qualifications and authorizing individuals to perform PMI work under their applicable procedures. References to API RP 578 identify the technical standard covered by the training.

Company purchasing or international enrollment? Contact ATC before purchasing if you need multiple seats, invoice arrangements, or help confirming enrollment details.
Use one registration per student and the student’s own email address. Successful card payment activates enrollment; offline payment requests require ATC approval. Your account provides private access to earned certificates through My Certificates.
Important: One attempt per exam
Exam attempt policy: Your 90-day course access includes one attempt at the API RP 578 Main Exam and one attempt at the Weld Dilution Exam. You must pass both exams. If you fail either exam, you may not retake it without evaluation and approval by Brian Wilson, ATC. Retakes are not automatic; an ATC administrator must reset access to the failed exam after approval. Contact ATC to request an evaluation. Resuming an unfinished, saved attempt continues the same attempt and does not provide an additional attempt.
Before you enroll

Examination and retest policy
One attempt per examination is included. The main examination contains 100 questions and requires 80% (80/100); the weld examination requires 90% (54/60).
After an unsuccessful attempt, a minimum of 14 calendar days must pass before a retest. Each retest costs $150 per failed examination and requires verified payment, completed review of assigned subjects, and ATC authorization. Payment alone does not unlock an examination.
One paid retest is available after ATC approval. After a second unsuccessful attempt, additional training and documented instructor review are required before any further authorization. ATC may document a fee waiver. Verified technical interruptions are reviewed separately from academic failures.
Each authorization permits exactly one attempt and expires 30 calendar days after approval. If the original training window has ended, authorization provides access only to that examination; online modules and operator courses are not extended. Certificates remain available through My Certificates.
Feedback may identify subjects needing review. Exam questions and answer keys are protected. To request review, contact brian@atc578.com.
